koioo 0 Posted June 13, 2004 i have been using linux for awhile, but decided to reinstall windows for some games, i installed win2000, and everything worked good untill after i installed the ATI drivers, then on the reboot, it went straight into the blue screen and says it's dumping physical memory. so then i tried windows 2003. i installed windows 2003 standard corp, and i follow some directions to convert it into a work station. everything goes well untill i need to enable directx graphics acceleration, the enable buttons are greyed out. so i try to install the ATI drivers anyway, after the reboot it starts up, and the ATI software says it can't find the drivers, then after a few seconds it goes to a blue screen. this has happened twice on a freash install. i have a Sapphire Radeon 9600 256MB Share this post Link to post
Brian Frank 0 Posted June 13, 2004 I'd try the Omega Drivers. Some guy tweaked the ATi catalyst drivers and they tend to make thing work a little better. 2ndly, make sure your chipset drivers are installed. Share this post Link to post
koioo 0 Posted June 13, 2004 i was going to try that, but i wanted to make sure it's worked for someone, just to save another reformat. i've read that Catalyst drivers 3.7-4.1 work, but i have been intalling 4.6. you think that could be the problem? becuase i never had any issues with it on windows 2000, untill the other day i tried to install the card. i'm nbot sure what the last version i used before that was though Share this post Link to post
koioo 0 Posted June 13, 2004 okay, i got the driver from the sapphire site, it was 4.5 , and it detected the install as windows 2003, but when i restart, i can't get my resolution higher then 800x600 and directdraw isn't working.. Share this post Link to post
