docjohnson 0 Posted June 17, 2004 I have some weird problems with the 1995 Need For Speed. It seems that the original installer program doesn't work under Xp, for some reason, and gives error messages. Now, I copied all the program files to hard disk and got a GAMEDATA/CONFIG/PATHS.dat -file from a working installation (from another computer) and the game seems to start properly. Everything is ok, no sounds though, as I haven't installed VDM-drivers yet. The problem is, that I can't get the car to move. (!) When the race starts, my car will not move. The rpm goes up, if the gear is "N", and when i then shift to 1 of R, the car does this burn-out thing, and then stops. If the gear is in 1 at start, the car doesn't move. What's the problem? If there was some missing files, the game wouldnt' start, I think. Has someone heard of this problem? doc Share this post Link to post
