Anyone have a functioning controller (USB) in Windows 2000?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Can anyone recommend a good controller that works well in Windows 2000? I was thinking of buying a Microsoft controller, but I am not sure if any controllers (USB) work at all in Windows 2000. I just need a good controller so I can play my old Moto racer smile

If I understand your question correctly, you are asking about joysticks and Win2k. Specifically USB Joysticks. If so, I am using both a Gravis Gamepad Pro USB and a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro USB on my system.

ABIT BP6, 2x466@560, Promise Fasttrak66 IDE Raid, Voodoo3 w/ Official Beta drivers, SBLive, 128 RAM, Build 2195.

Well not a joystick, I mean a controller like those old NES, SNES,and Playstation controllers. My old gravis phoenix is a joystick that worked well back in the Mech Warrior 2 days, but it's not good enough for the current games. I need a little controller maybe it's called a gamepad? Or maybe I should put this crack pipe down smile

The Gravis Gamepad Pro USB is exactly like the Gamepad Pro. 10 buttons. Almost exactly like my sons Nintendo controller. Works great for games like NBA Live2000 that don't take proportional control like flight sims and driving games. It is either all left or no left for instance, no "just a little left".

I have the same problem (no USB) i have a Chaintech 6BDU (Dual P3 +SCSI), i have been mailing with Chaintech and found out that a BIOS update should do the trick. but so far there's no working update available.. (maybe at the release point)
