mac_attack 0 Posted June 30, 2004 I installed the original game of Half-Life onto my WinXP Home Edition computer last night. When I clicked on the link to New Game, nothing happened. It gave me an error message saying that it can't read the CD. Now what does the computer mean by that when it obviously was able to install the game with no problems at all? Now it's saying that it can't read the CD?!?!? I then installed Half-Life: Blue Shift onto the computer. Lo and behold, the game is running smoothly with no problems at all. So far. So, what's up with the original Half-Life then? Can anybody help me out here? Thanks! Share this post Link to post
peterh 1 Posted July 1, 2004 Try cleaning the CD, finger marks and dirt can cause alsorts of problems with CDs. BTW, I have installed and run HL on XP Home with no problems, so its not an XP problem. Share this post Link to post
