alfredxwar3 0 Posted July 1, 2004 I can't have my Might and Magic 6 to work. I'm using windows xp home. It crashes whenever I start the game. Is there any ways of fixing this? When I set the run compatibility mode for win 95 it says it can't find some files. Someone please help! Thanks in advance. Share this post Link to post
enigma1 0 Posted July 3, 2004 I had the same problem so I had to slightly modify the main might and magic VI executable. Here is the link http://www.asymmetrics.com/MMVI/mm6_mod.zip make sure compatibility mode is OFF for the executable and read the install instructions in the zip archive. The problem was with the timing tuning the game was attempting to do. I noticed that with >2.0GHz processors is likely to have the problem. Also version 1.2 of mighty and magic VI (patch) is required. This is where the modified executable is based. Hope it helps Mark S. Share this post Link to post
ngwizard32 0 Posted July 31, 2004 I had the EXACT same problem.( getting error about file missing when trying to double click the icon to start the game ) this is how I FINALLY fixed it... right click the might and magic icon on your desktop and select "properties". next press the buttons "find target" you should see icons. double click the icon that reads mm6_12xp ( I think this was a patch that I downloaded but I don't know ). then you should see a message that says "insert disc 2" insert the disc and the game should automatically start. This will work. Best of luck and enjoy the game!!!!! Share this post Link to post

Trooper76 0 Posted November 10, 2004 Hi I've tried numerous times to run Might and Magic 6 The Mandate of Heaven but it doesn't work. After installing it, when I try to run it , the screen turns grey and the hourglass fixes in the middle of the screen. If I do a Ctrl-Alt-Delete, I notice a Error message window that states : ERROR: Video Driver not a DirectDraw driver. Does anyone know how fix the problem? Thanks alot, Mike Share this post Link to post
PhantomLotus 0 Posted November 10, 2004 Mike, your problem would be easier to fix if I knew what you were using, ie... motherboard, video card,...etc. Although it seems pretty clear that you need a different diver(for video), or even a newer video card. If you are using the newest driver released for your card then maybe try rolling back to an earlier driver, that may work. Hope this helps. Share this post Link to post
