Fedora Core 2 - CD vs DVD

Recommended Posts

Guest

Hi,

I tried once Fedora Core 2 RC, and i got the iso edition (nearly 2GB), it was ok...

I was looking on fedora website, and I saw they also have a DVD iso edition, nearly 4GB, there is also the CD edition the same as before, 2GB only.

so, what do the DVD isos contain in addition to the normal CD isos ?

thanks

so.... 200 person view this topic and no one knows the answer?

there are 2 types of iso on fedora core website:

1- CD iso (3cd's) = 2GB of things

2- DVD iso = 4GB of stuff...

what does 2 include more than 1? only source code or other software?

The DVD iso contains source rpms but all you really need is the 2 gb from the CDs.

This is useful if you have a dvd burner (however you can mount the dvd iso and do a network install), a high speed connection and have the time to download 4 gb and don't like to swap cds during the install.

The cds are useful for those that have no need for an extra 2 gb of source rpms.

btw I registered on these forums just to post in your thread smile
