Dapper Dan 0 Posted July 20, 2004 While looking around for something else, I found this thread on how to make Firefox even faster than it already is! I tired it, and indeed it does work! Share this post Link to post
SoulNothing 0 Posted July 20, 2004 hey i went to the site and it said you have to pay just thought id push one i found from amdedge 1. Type "about:config" in the adress field. 2. Set the value of network.http.pipelining to "true". 3. Set the value of network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to "100". 4. Set the value of network.http.proxy.pipelining to "true" 5. Set the value of nglayout.initialpaint.delay to "0" Yep, Tested it myself. Increases Mozilla Firefox speed and MAY also work for Mozilla. Taken from http://www.computerbb.org/about150.html Share this post Link to post

Dapper Dan 0 Posted July 21, 2004 I just changed mine up from 32 to 250. Man what a difference! It IS a lot faster. This is now the fastest browser I've ever used, except for links-graphic which puts them all to shame as far as speed goes. Share this post Link to post

paxromana 0 Posted September 8, 2004 if you cannot find them, right click on the about:config page and add them by typing them in, i couldnt find the initialpaint one and i typed it in, and it works, good luck Share this post Link to post
zenarcher 0 Posted October 16, 2004 I'm very new to Linux and this forum is a great help! I just tried the modification to Firefox and it's fantastic! I also set the maxrequests value to 250 and see no problem. Firefox is WAY faster!! Thanks again! zenarcher Share this post Link to post
zenarcher 0 Posted October 18, 2004 There is a new Firefox extension, called Tweak Network Settings 1.0, which will allow you to tweak some of these settings right from the Tool Menu. This may help some people improve the speed of Firefox quite easily. Just check the newest Firefox extensions. zenarcher Share this post Link to post
zero0w 0 Posted November 8, 2005 Another new extension, FasterFox, will achieve a similar purpose for speeding up your Firefox browsing experience: http://fasterfox.mozdev.org/ It's been quite handy and actually became a Top download in https://addons.mozilla.org/ as of late.
