How do I adjust the computers brightness?

How do i adjust the computers brightness other than the wheels on the monitor? I've don eit before but i forgot where the location was... it controls the gamma and whatnot... hopefully someone knows what i am talking about. Thanks.

Right click Desktop (a blank area), select Properties, then select Settings, Advanced and extra settings are there.

Some cards, like ATI/Nvidea extend the Display control panel with their own features, so you need it installed.

I believe Tay told us he had a Trident card which may not attach itself as does ATI/Nvidia.
