Mandrake 10.1 alpha wont load after install

After installing mandrake 10.1 while trying to load KDE the monitor flickers and eventually goes to login. Install did went ok anyone else had problems.

System boot is OK, text-mode is OK, but no GUI (X Windows) ..

do I have that right?

 

or do you mean: System boot is OK, screen flickers for a bit, then the GUI login appears?
