MP3 Burner

Recommended Posts

Hello there, I'm fair new to Linux and operating with Redhat 9.

I was recommended to use Video Lan Client for media and I was pleased with its preformence in windows.

After switching over (cause: general disgust with the above mentioned virus), I've been trying to get a working MP3 player working. I downloaded VLC and ran "RPM -U /vlc/* --force".

After running I received file dependency errors and two warnings. One warning said there were two packages of the same program being installed at the same time.

Is this unusual?

Then at another suggestion I tried K3B. With similar results.

Both times I followed the install instructions on the providers websites. (www.videolanclient.net) and (www.k3b.org)

Please advise ~Jon

laghail, you may want to consider an upgrade to Fedora Core 1. I used Red Hat 9 for a long time, and Fedora Core 1 is far better in many ways. It also come standard with XMMS MP3 player, although you'll have to download the xmms-mp3 plugin for it to work. K3B also comes standard with Fedora, and without a doubt, is the best burner I've ever used, in Linux or Windows.
