am304 0 Posted August 3, 2004 Hi!! I'm running win nt 4.0 and I have recently installed MSN Messenger 5.0. Unfortunately, I couldn't use because my proxy server won't let me so I uninstalled it using "add/remove programs" in the control panel. As far as I could tell, the uninstall process went fine. The problem is now every time I start my computer I get the following error message once I log on: "Cannot find the file 'C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available." Has anybody had a similar problem and found a solution for it? I tried reinstalling it again and then unsintalling it again but that made no difference. Many thanks in advance, Arnaud Share this post Link to post
Lotus 0 Posted August 3, 2004 Sounds like the uninstaller missed the startup entry in your registry. That entry is usually here: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run if for some reason it is not listed there, try here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run That should take care of that message for you. Good Luck! - Lotus Share this post Link to post
