Recommended Posts

How do you disable it?

I've got both scsi and IDE cd-rom.

And i'd like to disable auto-audio and auto-data run.

Thanks ´lot

Actually TweakUI doesn't do it. All TweakUI has a setting for is the auto-run option.

Auto-insert notification is different. Even with auto-run turned off the OS still checks the CD when you place it in the drive. That's what that little pause is.

I dont recommend taking Auto-Instert notification off. If you want to you have to goto the drive properties in the device manager and take it off. A lot of apps and things use it so thats why I said not to take it off.

I'm not sure about this, but I think under Tweak-UI, in the Paranoia tab, at the bottom are the options for "Things That Happen Behind Your Back". It has check boxes for play audio and data cd's automatically...

Here's how I turn it off, there may be another way though.

hit start-run, type gpedit.msc

look under "User Configuration", then under "Administrative Templates", then under "System"---you should see it towards the bottom, its called "Disable Autoplay"

Set it to disabled and you should be good to go.

Hope that helps smile

I got mine to disable through PSXcopy. After selecting it to disable the autoinsert, I did have to reboot but it is off now! Check settings in burner software to see if it will turn that off. No problems other than I need to always find setup.exe hehehehe

Wrong answer , right place. You have to click "enable" . I do not know why M$ did it that way. Enable will disable "Autorun". I hope that helps.
