dosadi 0 Posted August 26, 2004 I've waxed nostolgic and went back to play Tie Fighter CD collector's edition but the sound won't work. The sound card set up says there's no compatible sound card. I was wondering if there was any way to fix it. And please be easy on the jargon, I'm kinda slow. Share this post Link to post
enigma1 0 Posted September 3, 2004 Yes I had the same problem. Using imuse.exe the auto-detect function will likely fail to detect the XP emulated legacy settings (worked a couple of times with sound blaster though). Use the advanced menu (dont do autodetect) and select sound-blaster 2.0. It was one of the card emulations the sound was smooth. As of the music setting I left it to none as the adlib emulation didnt work in my case. Hope it helps Mark S. Share this post Link to post
ricardobarros 0 Posted January 10, 2005 I have this problem with Xwing, the first Lucas Art game. The game works fine in Windows but I can't hear the sound. I remember it only worked at DOS. Windows don't use the environment variables needed to the Sound Blaster 16 (recognized by the game). Do anyone know how to have sound for Star Wars Xwing in Windows? PS. I don't have the Sound Blaster anymore. Now the sound card is built in the mainboard and I use Windows XP. Share this post Link to post
