How do I uninstall mandrake 10.0 without deleteing the partion?

Recommended Posts

I need to know how or is there a way that I can uninstall mandrake 10.0 without deleteing the partion so I can install suse linux where mandrake used to be? Or would it be ok if I were to just manually delete all the mandrake files and folders and then just install suse there? Can anyone please help?

Your installer should have a partition tool which

will reformat the partitions. If it won't reformat

the partitions, just delete the partitions you want

to use and create them again.Either way will result in

empty partitions. Then install using the "use existing

linux partitions" option.

I don't have SUSE but one or the other of the two

ways above works with every distro I've tried.

The Suse installer is pretty good about what you can do with partions. If Suse is the only installed distro on the harddrve your working with just let the installer go at it. The main concern is are you doing a daul-boot, because the installer will sometimes default to delete some partions. If you list your current partion setup I can help you with the specifics is you'd like.
