Wn985 0 Posted September 7, 2004 I have a problem with my internet browsers, it seems that no matter what browser I'm using beit Mozilla firefox, MS IE 6.0, Opera, Netscape 7.x within the WinXp Pro environment the browsers seemed to be unrecognizable or just says mozilla. I've made certain there are no user agents deployed, no browser hijackers, and checked for trojans and viruses. When I go to lets say yahoo to get emails it shows me a warning that my browser is not recognized and proceeds to give me install links to MS IE6.0, Netscape etc. Has anyone experienced such a problem? I've uninstalled all of the browsers and reinstalled them, did a winxp Pro repair install all to no avail. Does anyone have a suggestion on something I've missed or overlooked that could help my dilemma? I would be most grateful. Regards, curt Share this post Link to post
Sampson 0 Posted September 7, 2004 Do you have any software that has changed the proxy configuration of your browsers? Share this post Link to post
Wn985 0 Posted September 7, 2004 Hi Sampson thanks for replying. To my knowledge no. Is there a way to check that? I went to a browser compatibility website using IE6, Firefox and Netscape and every time the test came back saying I was using "Mozilla 4 which is an older version". Awhile back I was trying a proxy tunnel software but have since uninstalled it. It seems that no matter what browser I use I get the same results. :x Regards, curt Share this post Link to post
adamvjackson 0 Posted September 7, 2004 Definately sounds like a proxy server, and that is reporting your useragent as Mozilla 4.x Compatible. To check: Internet Explorer: Tools, Internet Options, Connection Tab, LAN Settings button, check the state of the checkbox: "Use a proxy server for your LAN" Share this post Link to post
