NascarFool 0 Posted February 6, 2000 On my Compaq laptop , AMD-K6-2-433 , 64 meg ram with dual boot 98/2000. There are 5 items on IRQ 9 . Everything works except the Linskys 10/100 PC card. The card is 2000 compatible but Win2K 2195 will not pick it up on PnP. I can manually install it but it won't work. It is shown with a yellow exclamation on it. This card did work on an IBM Thinkpad with Win2K 2195 also it works in 98SE on the Compaq. Can the IRQs' be changed ? IRQs 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, and 11 are not even used. Share this post Link to post
YuppieScum 0 Posted February 6, 2000 THe device manager should allow you to edit the IRQ and things, in much the same way as Win9x. What happens when you "hot plug" the card - take it out and put it back while the machine is up? Share this post Link to post
1of2 0 Posted February 6, 2000 I'm getting this irq 9 problem with my home workstation. About 6 PCI devices are all using irq 9 and the option to change it manually is always greyed out. Is this some kind of special use of irq 9 for ACPI computers? I'm gonna try to force irq 9 to ISA in the bios to see what happens. The only problem I have is my machine keeps hanging which I am putting down to the beta G400 drivers atm. Rob Share this post Link to post

NascarFool 0 Posted February 6, 2000 OK , It's not the ethernet card that is having trouble. It is the Texas Instrument PCI-1211 Cardbus Controller that is not working. No conflicts showing on it. It shows the device is working properally. I can put a PCMCIA 33.6 modem card in and nothing happens , same with the ethernet card. Any ideas ? Share this post Link to post
