Please read this: will DVD writer bought in US work in India

Sorry; this rather is a newbie question

 

If i buy a dvd writer in US will it be able to play DVDs in India. I am aware of some DVD region thing; now i dont understand whether dvds bought here will play or not (both all region and region specific)... Thx in advance and its kinda urgent.

Typically you can change the region of the DVD drive a total of 4 times, the 5th change is final, locking the value. You can do this directly from Device Manager in Windows.
