rogerstark 0 Posted September 26, 2004 In the past I have managed to mount samba drives across my network at home using something similar to this in fstab and mounting 'as root' //192.168.1.2/name /home/name/pylori smbfs gid=users,exec,rw,uid=1000 0 0 I have recently updated and changed my system and when I mount the drive I get a user id of 501 that relates to the Mandrake server that I am running th local uid is 1000. I have tried various other solutions posted on the internet all seem to mount fine but not as uid 1000 so when I try to create directories I get permission denied. -- client (suse 9.2) @linux:~> id uid=1000(usrname) gid=100(users) groups=14(uucp),16(dialout),17(audio),33(video),42(trusted),65(sshd),100(users) -- server (mandrake 9.2?) @>id uid=501(usrname) gid=501(usernamr) groups=501(roger),4(adm),10(wheel),101(rpm),102(xgrp),103(ntools),104(ctools) Any Ideas what I am doing wrong Roger [Edited by rogerstark on 2004-09-26 19:03:35] Share this post Link to post
