solesole 0 Posted October 5, 2004 I can't uninstall 3dstudiomax 4.0! When I try to uninstall system (windows 2000) lokks for 3dsmaxsetup.msi but then says "is not a valid installation package for the product 3ds max 4. Try to find 3dsmaxsetup.msi in a folder from which you can install 3ds max 4". Could be because I installed it in D instead of C? Thanx for help! Sole Share this post Link to post
adamvjackson 0 Posted October 5, 2004 The uninstall procedure is looking for the original .msi installation package. In order to uninstall this correctly, you may need to have the CD in the drive, or reinstall the application, then attempt uninstallation again. Share this post Link to post
solesole 0 Posted October 5, 2004 You mean to reinstall over the old one? I tried to uninstall with 3dsmaxsetup.msi file but it says that it's the wrong one. Maybe because the installed it's a tryout version. I'll try to reinstall, thanx for your answer (and sorry for my english!!)! Sole Share this post Link to post
adamvjackson 0 Posted October 5, 2004 Yes, try reinstalling (installing to the same location) and then uninstalling. Hope that helps, and don't worry about your english, I understand that it's not everyone's primary language Share this post Link to post
solesole 0 Posted October 5, 2004 I tried to reinstall in the same location (inside the same folder) but it says to choose another location. I've installed in c and then uninstalled (the new one) and no problem, but the old one is still impossible to uninstall! Thanks for your help! Share this post Link to post
adamvjackson 0 Posted October 5, 2004 How about if you delete (via Windows Explorer) the program folder, and try to reinstall, then uninstall? Share this post Link to post
