Alcon 0 Posted October 21, 2004 Hey everyone, I have a Sims 2 problem for which I can find no help anywhere else. It installs with no hitches, starts up to the point of putting up the "The Sims 2" white screen. And then it freezes there for 1 - 2 minutes. It finally exists, saying that The Sims 2 encountered a problem and was forced to closed. It doesn't tell me anymore than that. I have upgraded my directX to 9c, I have a 2.8 GHz EMachine, with an ATI Radeon 9600 and 512 Mb Ram. I've tried reinstalling several times, and I'm completely stumped. Share this post Link to post

Jofedaisu 0 Posted February 28, 2006 Helllo, Recently My Mother got a new laptop from Dell from the Inspiron Series. It runs XP Media Center. I am sure the laptop more than meets all requirements(I checked and rechecked). Sims 2 would not install directly off the CD's. Followed ea's recommended steps to copy on to the local drive and intstalled from there. I changed the map of the game back to the DVD drive. Three out of four times when starting up the game it goes to the load screens white box saying "Sims 2" and just times out or freezes. The other time it will operate normally. I have updated my brand new Radeon x300 driver and installed the Sims 2 patch. But Alas, still happens haven't bothered to install already bought expansions because I can't get the core game to install properly. I have reinstalled again and again. I am out of answers. Can someone help me? DVD drive is R/W+- but The Sims 2 is PC-CD store bought. Share this post Link to post
