kobedf 0 Posted November 1, 2004 hello are the packages from the latest stable release "Woody" (26 oct 2004) newer than the packages for Sid ? what kernel does the new release have? Share this post Link to post
egorgry 0 Posted November 1, 2004 sid is always the latest and greatest followed by sarge then woody. Woody is know for it's outdatesd but stable pkgs sid is known for it's bleeding edge sometime unstable and broken pkgs and sarge is right in tehm idle. I think woody stilluses the 2.2 by default but you can get it with teh 2.4 kernel. good list of installers http://www.linuxmafia.com/faq/Debian/installers.html pkg lists http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages Share this post Link to post
