nit83 0 Posted November 22, 2004 I installed the sims 2 from my friend's CD, and it uses Alcohol as an emulator. but after all installation done, when i was ready to play, there was this warning that i THE SIMS2 couldn't locate my CD ROM and it told me to disabled all my EMULATOR .. but if i disabled my emulator, i dont have the 1st CD. THE 1 st and 2 nd CD is available in emulator format.. I've tried to copy from my virtual drive to my CD writer, but it says that the Cd can't be copied coz it's copyrighted... tried to copy all the contents and write to 1 cd, but it's written not the right CD ... felix 0 Posted November 22, 2004 Sigh........ Buy the game then try again with a licensed copy. Insert usual line about NTCompat not condoning piracy etc etc. Further problems see 115 other threads all offering same advice re directx re-installation, upgrade video card etc etc. Share this post Link to post
kedaxx 0 Posted November 28, 2004 why don't u copy the content of cd1 to your HD, download from internet "Deamon tools" (very small but helpfull 700 kb). after installatin deamon tools u'll see the icon on the right bottom of your screen. right click on it, tick Safedisk!!!in Emulation then go to Virtual CD/DVD-ROM ->Device 0:[E:] No media ->Mount image and click on it. After all u'll see the Message Box that promts u to show the 'Image" path. Find the place where u 've copied your cd1. even to show a directory is enough to launch the game, but i'm not sure because i play with cd1, i'm too lazy to make copy , etc. Hope it's gonna help.dont be afraid to download the "deamon tools" this program is alike Alchohol, but scan with Norton first before an installation OK!!! felix 0 Posted November 28, 2004 Kedaxx, your solution is fine if you own the license to the game and are using a legitimate copy. Then it's down to you if you have acres of hard drive space and like to save your CDs. However nit83 clearly states that he is using a copy of a friends disc. In this context, this advice is providing an avenue to pursue illegal activity which is not condoned by this board, in order to keep it's reputation. Share this post Link to post
