grommet 0 Posted November 27, 2004 every time i go to set up a new internet connection, this is what goes down: 1) i start the wizard and begin setup by selecting the connect to the internet option. 2) i select "set up my connection manually" 3) then i get this BS: i have a modem, and it works just fine. there are no conflicts or other hardware errors as far as diagnostics has told me. i even connected to my isp with hyperterminal, just to make sure everything worked. its been like this fresh out of the box. i installed a new hard drive, formatted it, installed windows, and bam, no internet. i did have a mobo driver error and had to reformat and reinstall windows, but i fixed that and i wouldnt think that would have anything to do with this. Wicked101 0 Posted November 27, 2004 I've seen this problem before, try to un-install the modem driver, restart the PC and re-install the modem driver. Please let me know if this worked. Share this post Link to post
perplexed 0 Posted February 14, 2005 grommet, did you ever find a solution to your problem of not being able to create a dial up connection? I am encountering the same problem. Would appreciate it if you could tell me how you solved this issue. Thanks. Share this post Link to post
perplexed 0 Posted February 14, 2005 I did check some of the required network services. The Remote Access Connection Manager was not started. I tried to start it but the message I get was that the Remote Access Connection Manager could not be started because it could not allocate buffer. BTW, in my case I reinstalled Windows XP after my PC started to reset immediately after booting up Win XP. The PC would startup, the XP would be should but then afterwards it would just reset and cycle over and over until I just turn it off. Share this post Link to post
