monster sound 300 problems...

Recommended Posts

hello

i have recently installed win2000, build 2195... everything seems to be going fine, except for my sound card. whenever a sound plays [i.e. a .wav file], it is accompanied by static... like a crackling sound. has anyone else had this problem, and if so, do you know of a solution?

my setup:

p2 400mhz

maxi gamer xentor tnt2 ultra

spacewalker mb [via chipset]

128 megs ram

13 gig western digital hd

d link ethernet adapter

creative dvd rom

[oh and if anyone can tell me how to get the build# outta the bottom right hand corner, that'd be swell too :]

thanks/treble

For the build --> Get REAL copy of Windows on Feb17. (And I don't mean download smile )

For the card, don't know. I have the same problem but it seems to work fine.. no 3d but sound from all 4 speakers.

I've got the same crackling noise in my system too. I believe that it first started after I upgraded the drivers for my TNT2 Ultra card to the nvidia beta drivers.

I am working under the assumption that the full release combined with non-beta NVidia drivers will correct this minor/very minor problem.

Regards...

thanks a lot for your replies...

at least i know i'm not the only one with these problems.

i was under the impression that this was the final copy of win 2000, but i guess not :]

rest assured, i am impressed enough with it that i will pick up a copy soon after it comes out.

thanks/treble
