Malaris 0 Posted December 27, 2004 I'm sure I read a thread like this before, but I couldn't find it , sorry guys! Anyway here goes; My wall jack has a microfilter in. This microfilter connect to my modem via an RJ45 ethernet cable. This modem connects to my PC via a USB cable. There are no other ports on my DSL modem. Microsoft suggest I keep this connection, and as I have a Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC (which allows 10 Mbps), I should use this to connect to my xbox's ethernet port. So basically: microfilter--->Modem--->PC--->PCI NIC--->Xbox. I realise I will have to have my PC running to utilise Xbox live, but does this sound correct? It does to me but my luck over the entire last year with my PC has been nothing short of abysmal, and about 50% of my reasoning to get an Xbox is to use XboxLive. Share this post Link to post
GTwannabe 0 Posted December 27, 2004 Yes, that will work. You will have to enable internet connection sharing on the properties of your DSL modem to share it over the ethernet. Share this post Link to post
Malaris 0 Posted December 27, 2004 Thanks man, I know it's fairly obvious but as I said, my PC has had problem after problem this year. Share this post Link to post
