a series of unfortunate events punching thingy. help i cant put it together

im having trouble putting the punching glove thingy in a series of unfortuna events together.

it just spins the stupid can around and around and ive tried every button on the ps2 controller. please if you know how to assemble it tell me!!!!!!!
