Sound only work sometimes after upgrade

I have just upgraded to:

Asus K8V-X - with onboard sound disabled.

A64

Radeon graphics

win XP pro

 

But kept an old PCI128 soundblaster sound card.

 

Before I upgraded I was runing xp home on a P3 500. And the sound worked normally.

 

Now the sound only works sometimes after turning the computer on. If I delete drivers in device manager and then restart the computer the sound will work when the drivers install automatically after restarting.

Sounds like a problem with driver you are using.

 

Delete existing drivers, download latest driver and install that.
