How do I get Monkey Island to install in windows XP?

I get a message that says: (Set up Requires _SETUP.DLL and _IRES.DLL located in _SETUP.LIB in order to operate properly Please ensure these files are located with SETUP.EXE)

OK! what do I do? I really like this game and would like to play it if I can get it installed. Any one know the secret to this problem? Besides it not being compatable!

I assume you don't mean Monkey Island 1/2, since they don't use installshield.

 

That leaves either Curse of Monkley Island or Escape from Monkey Island.

 

Which one?

 

Sounds to me like missing files.

ok thanks anyway i'm left with no choice but to throw the game away i looked in my setup.exe files for the dll lib files they are are there except ires.dll where can i go to get them? and how do i download them and in what folder do i put them?

if you install scummVM you can play these old games, like Loom, Simon the Sorcerer etc

Please don't resurrect old posts and ScummVM doesn't work for Escape from Monkey Island.
