fireforest 0 Posted March 9, 2005 Firstly, I do have read the post about "crashing explorer" here and tried to solve the problem, but obviously didnt work. The problem is: Every time I close the Explorer Window, the desktop will refresh, and load only 'volume control', 'internet connection' and 'remove hardware' in the task (right corner thing) - as my OS is not in English, hopefully I translate items correctly. The problem only occured when I close the explorer windows (at the moment), but not right clicking or click on htm(l) files as said in the other posts. The problem first appeared in XP HOME SP2, when I turned on the laptop, the shortcuts and "Start" didnt load, I have to use "CTRL+ALT+DEL" to open the "task manager" and closed it, the shortcuts and so on would then load. But, after that, the system worked fine, even rebooted it. Later, it started to show "DEP" error msg when windows crashing, so I tried to disable "DEP" by the instruction found online, and didnt work. So I thought its the SP2 problem and I deleted SP2, didnt work either. ------------------------- The exactly same problem was on last year when I just re-installed XP (formated throughoutly) and updated to SP2, but it was OK after a while (after few crashes in SP1) when I had deleted SP2. Would it be causing by softwares? As last time was happened soon after I installed "Skype", yet Skype worked fine with my friend's pc (with almost the same setting). And this time was after I installed a software for "unlocking mobile phones". ------------------------ Please please help me on this, its getting very annoying when every time closing the windows. Very much Thanks!! ================= my pc: Centrino 1.49G 256M RAM 60G XP HOME SP1 (at the moment) Share this post Link to post
