Pjotr 0 Posted March 16, 2005 Hello. I've got Windows XP. I'm not good with computers. Many games I'm trying to play won't work. They won't even install. When I try to install them my computer always gives me the same error message, something about a DLL, I don't know what it means, even less how to describe it english. The games I've got this problem are Jagged Alliance 2, King's quest 6 and Fallout 2 patch, for examples. I would highly appreciate any help. Thank you in advance if anyone bothers to give me advice, so I could play my favourite games again. Share this post Link to post

Actually, no. Hyvä arvaus kuitenkin. Eli tällainen viesti tulee: 16-bittinen Windows-alijärjestelmä C:\PROGRA~1\Symantec\S32EVNT.1.DLL. Asennettavan näennäisohjaimen virhe DLL-kirjaston alustuksessa. Sulje sovellus valitsemalla 'Sulje'. Share this post Link to post

Sulje sovellus valitsemalla 'Sulje'. ) Kokeiles noita Share this post Link to post
theefool 0 Posted March 16, 2005 C:\PROGRA~1\Symantec\S32EVNT.1.DLL Hmmm, just something to try. Can you turnoff whatever norton product you have and try again? Okay, I delved a little deeper into this problem. I believe this is cleansweep related. No matter, the supposed way to fix this is one of three ways. Whenever you want to install a program, disable norton. Uninstall Norton cleansweep. Or (Backup registry) Delete the Key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers\VDD Now, recreate the key that you deleted as REG_MULTI_SZ. Putting nothing in it. Yes it is no problem for me to understand english, but it gets complicated when you have to translate messages that windows gives in finnish to english, as the words are not really common. It works the other way though, it's english to finnish translation of windows messages are pretty obvious. But then again, as I stated, my knowledge of computer systems are close to nothing, so it's always nice to get help in finnish, eli suurkiitokset W. But thank you all for your help, I will try the methods you guys recommended. Share this post Link to post
theefool 0 Posted March 16, 2005 Your regedit screen reminded me of the two different times working on a Japanese laptop and a Korean laptop. Share this post Link to post
