misaal9 0 Posted April 20, 2005 hi.. i had brought up this topic earlier, but cant seem to find it anymore.... i m running XP on drive d and win98se on drive c. i want to reinstall my win98 (got some problems). but i fear that i may not be able to boot xp again (the startup menu does not appear). 1. Microsoft XP Professional 2. Microsoft Windows i dont wanna reinstall xp again just to get the startup menu. is there anyway to get the startup menu after installing win98 without reinstalling winxp? DosFreak 2 Posted April 20, 2005 No biggie. After you reinstall 98, simply boot up with the XP CD into the recovery console and do a fixboot and a fixmbr. Backup your NTLDR, NTDETECT.COM, and BOOT.INI files onto the D: drive just in case or for easier access. Share this post Link to post
