windows error message

Hi

I have some problems with my computer whenever i try to logoff my system it displays an error message which does not allow my system to shut down.I have to manually shut my computer down and the Error Code is 0xc0000142 .I have zone alarm firewall which prevents me to access the internet,i disabled it and tried to get connected but no go.

 

Then i tried ipconfig but it does not display any ip instead comes back to c:\ quickly.I use road runner and piggy bank on AOL 9.0 Security edition .Also i get an eror message 73-CHOM which i came to know is an aol error .I did a clean boot still no go(also disabled the firewall).I am unable to connect to internet and i get the error message while i shut the computer down.I would appreciate if any one would help me out.

What Windows? XP? Can you shutdown your computer in safe mode?

For IPconfig, try running "ipconfig /all" and either disable ZoneAlarm or add ipconfig to trusted applications. In Program Control->Programs->Add.
