kane666 0 Posted May 15, 2005 I have a Radeon 9800 XT card, and my pc is running WinXP Service Pack 1. I have tried to install Service Pack 2 in the past, but multiple pc problems came up, so I system restored back... just in case anyone asks why I still run Service Pack 1 I'd like to install the current driver release 6.14.10.6525 but I can't locate it for Service Pack 1, all I see is ATI recommends Windows XP Service Pack 2 or higher to be installed on the notes. Then I noticed something that I don't even think I have on my pc - something called Catalyst 5.4 Seems pretty cool.... again, I see service pack 2 required. I could use some help as to what I should download, where I can find it and if I can use this Catalyst package even tho I have Service Pack 1. Will it not run at all if I try to use it on Service Pack 1? If I need and SHOULD go with Service Pack 2... any installation tips ... anything to avoid my pc not responding well after I tried it the first time. Sorry for the long post, just trying to provide what I can as far as info and interests. TY Share this post Link to post
jmmijo 1 Posted May 15, 2005 Catalyst is ATi's fancy name for their Graphics Card drivers, like Forceware is for the nVidia based cards I run the latest Catalyst drivers on an SP1 box without any problems. I've even installed the .Net framework and tested them with the CCC app and all seems to work just fine... Share this post Link to post
