Want to connect an IDE HD to a SATA system to retrieve data from IDE

I have connected a Maxtor 120 GB IDE hard drive to my system, which is SATA (running under windows XP). It shows up in the device manager as working properly, but will not show in My Computer. I want to retrieve data from the IDE drive. Can someone help me resolve this issue. BTW, I'm having no boot problems with the SATA drive, it just won't show the IDE drive in 'My Computer' to access it. THANKS.

Run Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc). Are any partitions or errors shown on the disk?
