Qz 0 Posted May 26, 2005 I have a X800XT Radeon 256mb PCI-E. I checked the temperatures recently mainly as the weather is getting hotter and i wanted to see if my card was doing ok. Idle i usually get about 55-60 and in games 60-80 degrees C. Is this acceptable or is the card in danger of dying? Share this post Link to post
technoplume 0 Posted May 26, 2005 I guest not but that might not be a good sign. I recommend that you contact the compagnie to discover a better way to cool down the card. I sure know that they are fragile at high temperature. Well at the cost they are. I would not sleep well knowing a fan cool it down and realy suck at it. Share this post Link to post
ScinteX 0 Posted May 26, 2005 It's fine! GPUs run way hotter than CPUs. 60-80 is ok, although I have to say that the cooler something runs the better but it's all relative. ATI's temps for your GPU are: Maximum recommended ASIC case (or center of die backside for flip chip) - 105°C Absolute maximum rated junction temperature: TJmax 125°C Minimum ambient operating temperature 0°C As you can see, well within specs. If you are little paranoid about the cash you just spent, invest in a high quality cooler for your card- something like Zalman or coolermaster or some other well known company.
