jazzdrive 0 Posted May 26, 2005 I have a windows XP client who VPNs into our Windows 2003 server with the windows provided VPN connections. He is Eastern time and the server is Central time, and everytime he VPNs, the machine synchs its time with the Server and reverts to Central. This causes some problems with his Outlook, as many appointments move down one hour when this happens, and he constantly has to change his computer back to Eastern. Is there a way to stop this synchronization? Thanks. Share this post Link to post
theefool 0 Posted May 26, 2005 Not sure if this will help or not...but maybe. Goto control panel. Date and Time. Internet Time tab. Uncheck "Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server" Which most windows servers are (internet time server), on a domain. Share this post Link to post
jazzdrive 0 Posted May 26, 2005 The Internet Time Tab isn't there, since the computer is part of a domain. Share this post Link to post
ross_aveling 0 Posted May 26, 2005 You could always disable the Windows Time service. Share this post Link to post
jazzdrive 0 Posted May 26, 2005 Would that affect Outlook and time zones? Does anything else majorly depend on that service? Thanks. Share this post Link to post
ross_aveling 0 Posted May 26, 2005 Nope, it only deals with time syncronisation (with Microsoft's public time server by default, unless on domain), and nothing depends on it. Share this post Link to post
