shaunblah 0 Posted June 16, 2005 So I decided to re-install my XP pro. I formatted with ntfs, and go to install the OS. I get " error, digiras.chm is not found " It asks me if i want to continue with the setup or not, i click yes. I was wonderign what this file is/does because Im in fear that the file that is missing is the source of my problems prior to re-installation. Share this post Link to post
DosFreak 2 Posted June 16, 2005 It's just a help file. Probably for a Digi wireless device. If it couldn't copy it off the CD then either 1. It's missing. 2. Your CD is scratched/dirty/corrupted. 3. Your computer memory is bad. So.... 1. Check your XP CD for digiras.ch_ 2. Clean your CD, after you do that manually copy the CD to your hard drive to verify that you can copy the files. 3. Run this for a couple of hours: http://www.memtest.org/ Share this post Link to post

DosFreak 2 Posted June 17, 2005 Nah, Download Everest Home Edition or Sisoft Sandra and find out what kind of memory you have. Check the SPD values. Then verify that your BIOS is set to the same values. If they are then try setting your memory to a higher value and rerun the memory tests. Take note of which memory chip memtest identified and take it out. Then rerun the tests. If you still have problems then yeah you'll need some new memory. Share this post Link to post
