Cormac 0 Posted June 17, 2005 Hi, I hope you guys can help me. I am using win xp pro and I set up the admin password feature. I found out tonight when I tried to boot to safe mode, the password feature blocks me from getting to safe mode. Do any of you know how I can turn the admin password feature off?? Thanks for any help you can give me Share this post Link to post
Wilhelmus 1 Posted June 17, 2005 Can you login with Administrator? Do you use the Welcome screen? Try pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del couple times to get classic (win 2000 style) login screen. Then type Your account name and password. Control Panel->User Accounts->Administrator->Remove Password or something like that. Share this post Link to post
Cormac 0 Posted June 17, 2005 Thank you Wilhelmus for the quick reply. I couldn't get the screen to change to the Classic Log in. I am able to log in as the Administrator but it won't allow a change to the set up to get rid of the password. It said the only way to get rid of the password is to make a new admin and have them delete the old admin account. I did that and of course it wiped all the settings from the old account. So I had to system restore to get all of my old settings back. All I want to do is just find a way to remove it asking me for the password. Thanks again Share this post Link to post
