Tyrian 0 Posted June 26, 2005 I'm trying to piece together a computer for my parents, and my question is so simple I feel dumb not being able to answer it myself. How do I know which motherboards are compatible with the processor they want? Specifically, I'm basing this computer around a Celeron 2.4 400fsb, and how do I find motherboards that support it? jmmijo 1 Posted June 26, 2005 Since you're basing this decision around the older Celeron 400FSB CPU, it's going to take some research to find a suitable board that still supports the slower 400 FSB speed. I think there are still quite a few boards that should be available for you. Have you done a Google search yet ?!? I work for a system builder and we primarily use Intel, Asus and Aopen boards. We've also been selling some low end Jetway boards that surprisingly have been working quite well for us with very few failures THIS model is the P4 Socket 478 we are using in our bare bones white box systems.
