mattisbogus 0 Posted July 5, 2005 I'm having a problem with my DirectX. I have 9.0c installed, and all the tests return 'No Problems' but I get D3D Device errors & Direct Draw errors. I only get a Direct Draw error from 'Sim City 4' but right after the error, i'm able to play the game fine. I have never updated drivers before, so I don't know much about it. From what I learned I have to goto the manufactures site and download the updates there, which I have done, but I still have the error. Here's some info I hope will help. --------------------------------------------------------- System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 7/5/2005, 16:50:28 Machine name: ------------------ Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Dell Computer Corporation System Model: Dimension 2400 BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A05 Processor: Intel® Celeron® CPU 2.40GHz Memory: 254MB RAM Page File: 204MB used, 420MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.2180 32bit Unicode ------------ DxDiag Notes ------------ DirectX Files Tab: No problems found. American Zombie 0 Posted July 6, 2005 Yours are the same version as the latest on the Intel site. As far as the game you may want to look at this Game compatibility list that was on the Intel site for that chipset. Scroll down to Sim City 4. Maybe it will help you out. Share this post Link to post
Wilhelmus 1 Posted July 6, 2005 Goto the settings tab of display properties. Click Advanced. Click on the Troubleshoot tab and move hardware acceleration bar all the way to the right, if not already. Reboot. Share this post Link to post
mattisbogus 0 Posted July 6, 2005 Thank you very much, i'm relieved to know that it's updated. About how long to companys update their drivers? or are they all different? Sim City 4 is working fine now, the other game wasn't a problem with my CPU I don't think. I have to download a Security Update through their client, and the update keeps timing out. Checked my firewall ports, and they are ok, servers or something must be down, i'm not sure. I have my hardware acceleration set to 'Full' now, and I have my color quality set to 32 bit, hopefully everything is smooth sailing from here. Thanks again. - Matt Share this post Link to post
