Achyvi 0 Posted July 10, 2005 I decided to try and install my old Dinotopia game on my new laptop (a VAIO FS, if that makes any difference). However, it won't work for some reason or another. I used to be able to get it to work on my desktop... I think... but now all it does is pull up the DOS prompt, turn the screen black with a little white blurb in the center, and then it closes. I got all the sound devices to work, in theory---the setup said it recognised them both, anyway. It's installed, and the info file has all the various aspects pointing to the right drives. I assume the video card works okay with it, but I'm not sure at all. Even so, it doesn't work! Has anyone else had this problem? Is it just not compatible with XP, and I've remembered wrong, or what? The game itself is from 1995 or thereabouts, and I use XP Home edition. Last I checked, I had all security updates and patches and things for my OS. And yes, I did check the list. It wasn't on there.
