DirectX 9.0c red wont install

ok i had directx 9.0b but i unistalled so i can install 9.0c to play battlefield 2 and when its done it says: The components installed are now ready for use. but when i check in dxdiag it doesnt says i have 9.oc installed. The installation was so fast but it didnt install anything i juz click where it says next and then it tells me dat, i have Window Xp Home Edition SP2 and this is my 1st time w/ dat crap
