Might and Magic 7 smacker error

Might and Magic 7 works almost perfectly for me on windows xp pro...BUT the only way for me to play it is to skip the cutscense like the intro and stuff like that..if i dont then the game hangs and i get a empty error message called smacker error or similar..now i know cutscenes arent everything but it would be nice to see them not to mention if i finally finish the game too
