Tas123 0 Posted August 20, 2005 I have a problem. I performed a disk clean of my window and after that I couldn't start windows. I installed windows in a new folder in the same partition. I then managed to make a repair installation to my old windows. But what happened is that under my user directories and on desktop, i only see the directories but without files in them. Also the space of the hard disk indicates that almost empty, meaning that the files are not there. Anyone can help, will be appreciated. Share this post Link to post
ozyrus 0 Posted August 21, 2005 I will assume that you are running Windows XP. I might be wrong here, but here's what I think: The problem is that even if your WINDOWS folders are separate for each installation, your "Documents and Settings" folder is only one. This means that by installing a new windows on that same partition all the files in your "Documents and Settings", "My Documents" and "Program Files" folders were deleted.
