Please someone help with sims 3000 constant search

Can someone here please please help me with the Sims 3000 game. I have searched all over the internet for answers.. I have searched message boards and the EA sports offical website, but still no answers. I installed Sims 3000 the game.. I go to load the game.. while its loading it goes through the introduction, than a picture that says sims 3000 unlimited appears than the game crashes and goes back to the windows screen. Are there any patches I can download to fix this ? If so can you tell me how to go about getting them and what to do once I got them? If someone could please help because I'd like to play this game.
