MS-DOS Problem :( (winxppro)

my MS-DOS is fked up.. and i keep getting the same message when trying to install some old games (half life):

there is a solution to the problem here but when i go through the resolution steps and do everything, i still have the same error msg come up (ive done the steps about 5 times over and still nothing).

can anybody help me?

Sounds like the Autoexec.nt file is missing or was written to with a non-text editor.

 

To fix copy the .NT files from c:\Windows\Repair to

C:\Windows\System32
