Lizzy_106 0 Posted September 4, 2005 Whenever I go to play the sims 2 it says: "Windows Systems Error- Microsoft Windows detected and recovered from a device failure, please save your work and reboot to restore full functionality." I don't know what to do! I need help with this, please! Share this post Link to post
Wilhelmus 1 Posted September 4, 2005 What are your computer specifications? Click Start->Run. dxdiag From System tab, tell us: System Manufacturer, System Model, BIOS, Processor, Memory and DirectX Version. From Display tab, tell us: Name, Manufacturer and Approx. Total Memory. If you know how to get to BIOS, go there and look for "AGP Fast Write" or similiar and turn it off / disable. If you do not know, look from motherboard manual. Update your graphics card drivers, from manufacturer's website. Share this post Link to post

kazza84 0 Posted February 18, 2006 I keep getting problems actually trying to get my sims 2 to play. I'm trying to install it on my laptop (it runs fine on my home pc) so I hope it's not the specifications thats a prob. When I go to play, after it has installed, I get a message saying the sims 2 has encountered a problem and needs to close. When I looked for info on the error report it says it includes info about the condition of the sims 2 when the prob occurred, operation system version and comp hardware in use. My specifications are: Toshiba m50-130 satellite. Operating system: Windows XP home edition. Processor: Intel Pentium M 1.73 GHz Memory: 510mb ram Page file: 346mb used 902 mb available. DirectX Version: DIrectx 9.0c No probs found. Display Device: ATI Mobility radeon x600 SE Approx total memory 128mb. Driver-DDI version 9 (or higher) errm I dunno if you need ne other info. It's really annoying I've tried uninstalling and re installing but its' not helping any, and if I press debug nothing happens either. Share this post Link to post
Sampson 0 Posted February 18, 2006 Sims 2 is demanding. Your processor probably just can't keep up. Your video card is at the low end and probably needs another 128K at the resolution (800x600) perhaps 16bit you have it set for. You could try dropping the resolution and using the 256 color quality. It won't look pretty, but it might play. Share this post Link to post
