Beavis 0 Posted February 26, 2000 My wife has a HP Pavilion 6535 computer and I loaded Windows 2000 on it. Does anyone know where I could find updated drivers for her video card and her sound card? (I have went to the HP site but they are absolutely no help at all) Share this post Link to post
Maverick494 0 Posted February 26, 2000 A little more info. is required.n What sound card is it? what video card is it? once you provide that we may be able to help. Share this post Link to post
Beavis 0 Posted February 26, 2000 The video card is a "Intel Corporation 810 Graphics Controller Hub" The sound card is a "AC'97 Driver for Intel 82801AB Controller" (At least that is what Win2000 calls it) The HP site doesn't give any info on anything. I will never buy a pre-made system again. Thanks. Share this post Link to post
Maverick494 0 Posted February 27, 2000 Without knowing the Mobo chipset exactly(CA810 or SU810), I can only direct you to these 3 sites. Your Graphics chip is definately one of the new intel 810 series built in AGP to the MOBO. and the sound is also integrated into the MOBO. SO for the sound, as near as I can tell (only thing offered is a WINNT 4.0 driver which is iffy)one of these: http://developer.intel.com/design/motherbd/ca/ca_drive.htm http://developer.intel.com/design/motherbd/su/su_drive.htm and for graphics(again only winnt4 drivers far as I can tell): http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/intel810/software.htm My sympathies go out to you. you bought a computer with one of the most useless graphics and sound interfaces, that exsists. and with no AGP expansion solt your pretty much stuck. My best recommendation is to try and sell it off to someone who doesn't care and that wants an easy to use, no brains required computer, for about what you paid. Then go build a custom system. Beavis 0 Posted February 27, 2000 I figured I was in trouble when I opened it up and found everything on the motherboard. I think I am going to pilfer some of the good stuff out of it and rebuild her a good system. I figure I should be able to take the CPU (Celeron466), 8 gig HD, 64 MB RAM, 40XCD-ROM, floppy drive, and the two net cards out and transfer them into a better machine. Heck, I only paid $500 for it anyway. Share this post Link to post
Maverick494 0 Posted February 29, 2000 That sounds like you Best bet.....that way you can look at the HCL....my reccomendation for video is the V3 3000...and the sound card recommendation is an Aureal Vortex 2 Super Quad....all OEM of course. (although the Aureal Sound card doesn't have any drivers available yet, but niether does the SBLive! really either.) Share this post Link to post
