saiko 0 Posted September 25, 2005 Hi Group, I am after some help with my samba setting on my new fedora 4 setup on my wifes computer. my Network here is a mix of dos, win98,win xp,linux red hat 8.0 and now fedora 4. I have on my red hat 8.0 computer samba running very nice I can send and get files from it with no problem from any of the computers including my win xp machine. now on my new fedora 4 computer I set up the samba server as I thought it should be. on my windows xp machine it shows up fine I can get to the shared folders as well and can use the printer with no problems at all. But as soon as try to transfer a file from my win xp box to the feodra 4 box it comes up cannot copy log.txt access denied. (copy log.txt to fedora 4 from win xp). I just put a file in the one of the shared folders on the fedora 4 box and I can see it on the win xp box and can even copy it off fedora 4 box to win xp box it looks like a write problem to me but I have tried everything, Infact I have been at it all day. I did not have this problem when I setup my red hat 8.0 samba and it is still working fine. I know it will be something silly that I have forgotten to do any ideas would be most appreciated.
