Xp on my pc..can't boot up

Hi troops..man what a day..trying to help a friend with this pc and whew ..Presario..XP system..won't boot ..just logo..tried everything I know..still nothing any ideas?//

Are you trying to install from a bootable XP CD?

 

If it used to have '98 on it, it's best to format the HDD first, which is best done from a bootable '98 floppy.

 

After formatting with the '98 floppy, then install XP.

 

BTW, how much RAM does he have?
